Berlin, 19 March 2025. The former founder, CEO and Deputy Chairman of the Advisory Board of Versatel Peer Knauer is the new Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Tele Columbus AG. As former Chairman of the Advisory Board of the fibre optic network operator Deutsche Glasfaser, he brings with him extensive and international experience from 25 years in the telecommunications industry. In Europe, he has been a Senior Advisor at Searchlight Capital since 2016, specialising in telecommunications and media, and has been a member of the Board of Directors at Eolo SPA Italy since 2017.
Jens Müller is also a new member of the Supervisory Board. As former Managing Director and Co-CFO of Unitymedia KabelBW, CFO of Deutsche Glasfaser and previously primacom, he has in-depth expertise in the telecommunications industry. He is also active as an advisory board member in several companies.
The planned change is taking place because the current Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Tele Columbus AG, Marc van’t Noordende, is retiring for age reasons. In addition, Annelies van Zutphen will resign from her position at her own request on
31 March 2025.
Tele Columbus has been the fastest growing IP service provider in Germany for over two years and is accelerating its fibre optic expansion every year. The Group is also reorganising its sales and network structure in order to be able to provide even more fibre optic connections in Germany. “I am very pleased to take on the position of Chairman of the Supervisory Board and to accompany the future development of Tele Columbus together with the Management Board and my colleagues on the Supervisory Board. My goal is to further strengthen the strategic direction and promote sustainable growth,” says Peer Knauer.
Further members of the Supervisory Board are the Deputy Chairman Christoph Oppenauer and Venkie Shantaram. The Annual General Meeting of Tele Columbus AG will take place on 10 July 2025. The invitation with further information will follow in due time.
